In short, everyone wanted a piece of the Duke, and the promise of Page’s involvement in a second season guaranteed that many Netflix subscribers would be back for more. Video compilations of their steamiest scenes spread across social media, while “I burn for you” – a line of dialogue spoken to the Duke by a besotted Daphne – became one of the most discussed moments of the season. Their enemies-to-lovers arc was a trope that’s not new to the genre, but captured the attention of 82 million in its first four weeks of release nonetheless. When the romantic drama became an instant hit on Netflix in late 2020, something essential to its success seemed to be the racy relationship between Regé-Jean Page’s Simon, the dashing Duke of Hastings, and the town’s “diamond” – or, the Queen’s favourite of society season’s new debutantes – Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor).
SIMON BRIDGERTON ASS TV
We’ll just have to wait and see.How does a TV show live on without its main character? It’s a dilemma that producers have had to solve plenty of times over the decades – from George Clooney in ER to Kevin Spacey in House of Cards – and has now fallen upon the creators of Bridgerton. The ton will be mad since he’s of the lower class, but Eloise is basically a non-conformist, so I can see it happening. However, we do think there’s a possibility he’ll return in the season centered around Eloise’s love story. Also, his character and Eloise seem to break things off for good in season 2. While the actor is open to returning for the third season, it doesn’t look like it will actually happen. We never see Theo again in the second season. Eloise meets up with Theo, and they share an intimate moment before they break things off. However, Penelope lies to Eloise so that she can get her to stop trying to reveal Lady Whistledown’s identity. Their relationship is cut short when Penelope tells Eloise that there’s gossip around town about her meeting with a man from the lower class. He was Eloise’s short-lived love interest in season 2. Theo, portrayed by Calam Lynch, is another character that probably won’t return in the third season. Liam Daniel/Netflix © 2022 Is Theo in Bridgerton season 3? (No, I’m not going back to the show btw – the papers made that one up.) But we had the best, and most stylish, catch up I’ve had in a while over some truly excellent Italian coffee and sunshine.”īridgerton. However, Page shut down those rumors in the caption of the post.

Since Page and Bailey were hanging out, people immediately started speculating that this meant Page would be coming back to the period drama. Page broke the news of him not returning through an Instagram post of him and Jonathan Bailey at Milan Fashion Week. However, we had hoped he’d return for the third season in some capacity. This shouldn’t be surprising because he wasn’t in the second season, either. LIAM DANIEL/NETFLIX © 2020 Is the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton season 3?Īs much as we would’ve liked to see Regé-Jean Page reprise his role as the charming Simon Basset/Duke of Hastings in the third season, it’s just not happening. Now which characters will probably not appear in the upcoming third season? Here’s what we know.īRIDGERTON (L to R) REG-JEAN PAGE as SIMON BASSET in episode 108 of BRIDGERTON Cr.
SIMON BRIDGERTON ASS SERIES
Ruby Stokes, who played Francesca Bridgerton, exited the series after the second season and has been replaced by Hannah Dodd for season 3 and on. More cast members who have been confirmed to return are Jonathan Bailey (Anthony), Claudia Jessie (Eloise), Luke Thompson (Benedict), Ruth Gemmel (Lady Violet Bridgerton), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Agatha Danbury), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), and Simone Ashley (Kate). Luckily, they were already confirmed to return earlier on. Since the third season will focus primarily on Colin and Penelope’s love story, we can obviously expect Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan to reprise their roles. But unfortunately, there are also some characters we’ll probably not see make an appearance in Bridgerton season 3. While waiting, we have started to think about all who we can expect to see in the new season.

But, of course, we’re talking about Bridgerton, and we can’t help but get excited for the third season’s expected release in 2023. We’re all waiting for the best period drama on Netflix to make its return.
